FMG Support Appoints New Operations Manager

Issued December 15 2004 FMG Support, the UK’s largest independent fleet performance improvement company, has appointed George Gibbons as operations manager for its Roadside Repair & Recovery Management team.

Joining from the Automobile Association (AA), where he spent 21 years in the operations department, George, 45, will be responsible for managing every aspect of the service delivery process. This will include overseeing FMG Support’s network of suppliers to ensure they are providing customers with the best possible assistance.

During his time at the AA, where he held the post of recovery operations manager, George was part of the project group responsible for migrating the organisation from a paper-based office to electronic records. His team also won Operations Centre of the Year three years in a row.

Originally from Manchester, George will be based at the company’s newly extended premises on St Andrews Road in Huddersfield.

FMG Support has just united its three operations – AMC, Delta Rescue and Satellite Vehicle Rentals - and is ideally placed to offer holistic and bespoke services to customers looking to optimise the performance of their fleets.

Commenting on the appointment, Nick Brown, chief executive, said: “FMG Support has already achieved great success under the new structure and we are currently recruiting to meet customer demand. We identified George Gibbons as someone with a great deal of experience in the sector, who would provide excellent people skills whether dealing with FMG Support’s valued customers, employees or suppliers and are delighted he has joined the team.”
