FMG Support makes a charitable start to the new year with contribution to Brake

Issued January 08 2007 Donating £1,000 and supporting the charity’s road safety programmes

January is a time when many companies are suffering from the corporate hangover of festive over-expenditure on client gifts and entertainment. However, FMG Support, the UK’s largest independent fleet performance improvement company has started the new-year much more positively by using part of its Christmas budget to donate £1,000 to Brake, the national road safety charity.

“We are delighted that a local company such as FMG Support has made this donation to Brake. It will make a vital contribution towards helping us to continue its road safety education, particularly within the fleet sector, which is especially relevant to FMG Support’s customers.” Chris Frost, Brake’s marketing officer.

For the first time, the two Huddersfield-based organisations have initiated a relationship that shares similar objectives around vehicle incident reduction and driving at work issues. In addition to the local connection and strategic synergy, FMG Support also selected Brake due to the continuous success of its safety initiatives. The donation will contribute towards relevant programmes such as Brake’s national Fleet Safety Forum which focuses on helping company fleets manage their occupational road risk and will also go to support wider national campaigns.

Chris Frost, Brake’s marketing officer commented: “We are delighted that a local company such as FMG Support has made this donation to Brake. It will make a vital contribution towards helping us to continue its road safety education, particularly within the fleet sector, which is especially relevant to FMG Support’s customers.”

The donation was recently presented to Chris Frost of Brake by FMG Support’s chief executive, Nick Brown at the company’s headquarters

Nick Brown, chief executive, FMG Support, said: “Sending Christmas cards electronically to our clients and partners enabled us to invest the money that we saved on a worthy cause that also fits perfectly with our business. Our business has grown dramatically within the last couple of years and as we progress we are keen to support organisations that benefit both our industry and the local community. We hope that our contribution will help to raise awareness of road safety issues amongst fleet drivers and also on wider levels with the public.”
