FMG Group Appoints Propaganda to Steer £500,000 Account
Issued October 04 2004 Huddersfield-based FMG Group - the UK’s largest independent provider of outsourced motor vehicle fleet management services – has appointed Leeds and London-based strategic marketing group Propaganda to handle a £500,000 brief to provide it with brand and marketing consultancy.
FMG Group – which employs 170 people and has a turnover of £30m – will initially utilise Propaganda’s planning & insights team to analyse its brand and marketplace before a strategy is developed to unlock potential areas for commercial growth.
Nick Brown, FMG Group’s chief executive, said: “We are a successful organisation and have enjoyed significant growth over the years. However, we realise that in order to maintain momentum we must be driven by a commitment to understanding and meeting our customers needs through an affirmation of our core brand values.
“We were very impressed with Propaganda’s innovative approach to marketing and their ability to provide objective strategic thinking, so we had no hesitation in appointing them. I know that both organisations are looking forward to working together to produce a highly effective, results-driven marketing strategy.”
Established in 1986, FMG Group provides tailored fleet management services to organisations ranging from owner-managed businesses to blue chip companies.
Commenting on the appointment, Propaganda’s planning director Kirsty Smith said: “A company cannot base its marketing strategy on assumptions relating to its marketplace or its customers. Knowledge is power, and our planning & insights team possess the tools and techniques to find out key market insights that will allow FMG to unlock latent areas of opportunity and growth.”
Founded in 1993, the Propaganda group employs 52 people and projects a fee income for the next 12 months of £4.8m from a turnover of £11m, with an additional £9m in billings. A wholly-owned subsidiary of the group is London-based consumer public relations company Revolver Communications.
Propaganda group’s clients include hair beauty brand ghd, Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, Unilever, global sales training provider Huthwaite, tool manufacturer Spear & Jackson, internet service provider Yahoo!, Monkhill Confectionery (a division of Cadbury Trebor Bassett), Sharwoods, the BBC, kitchen manufacturer Symphony and original punk band The Damned.
